Hearty Kitchen Academy FAQS

A rotating series of courses, designed for individuals with disabilities, who are genuinely interested and able to learn/improve their life skills in the areas of food safety, healthier eating habits, and choices in food preparation.
The Hearty Kitchen Academy Manager reviews all applications with support from Loveland Center management.
A variety of courses are being developed and each will be analyzed throughout its duration for improvement opportunities.
The current program is scheduled to run for 5 weeks, 2 days per week, 5 hours per day, including breaks and lunch. See calendar in application (*Subject to change).
Most of each course will be spent ‘hands-on’ in the HKA professional kitchen. Brief, lecture portions of a course may be held in the HKA classroom located in the Lamoureux Clubhouse.

Each course will begin with a trip to a topically appropriate commercial business in the local community.

Each 5-week intensive costs $500. Scholarships can be made available. Please request more information when applying.
Yes, in most instances students will be consuming what they prepare each day for lunch; unless otherwise notified.
