Don A. Fisher and Family Recreation Area
For nearly four decades, Don Fisher dedicated his life to improving the lives of children and individuals with disabilities. Through his involvement with the Suncoast Foundation and countless community fundraising efforts, Don helped create opportunities, build connections, and support organizations that served those with special needs.
Whether through the offshore boat races, the Suncoast BBQ & Bluegrass Bash, the Hoot n Annie, volunteer service, or simply encouraging others to get involved, Don believed that communities are strongest when they come together to support one another. His generosity, compassion, and commitment to helping others left a lasting impact on countless families throughout our region.
As Don’s family and friends searched for a meaningful way to honor his life and legacy, they were inspired by Loveland’s vision for a new Recreation Center. The project reflects many of the values Don championed throughout his life—community, inclusion, athletics, opportunity, and the belief that every individual deserves a place to belong.
In lieu of flowers, Don’s family has requested that memorial gifts be directed toward the Loveland Recreation Center. Through these contributions, family, friends, and community members have the opportunity to celebrate Don’s life by supporting a project that will bring joy, recreation, friendship, and opportunity to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities for generations to come.
Thank you for helping honor Don’s memory and continue the spirit of generosity and service that defined his life.
“I’ve always felt that helping others is a gift that everyone can give.” — Don Fisher
