Living in a world not built to meet their needs means that 90% of individuals with I/DD experience trauma throughout their lives.  Tamra Cajo, the Director of the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Clinic at The Florida Center will discuss how trauma effects individuals with brain based differences and ways we can support individuals with I/DD through a trauma informed lens.

Aimed at providing ongoing support for caregivers of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, The Advocan Series is a free monthly digital session.

Offered the 3rd Thursday of each month, topics vary from how to better support the individuals with disabilities in your life to how to better support yourself as a caregiver.
